Is Pearland ISD hiring music teachers to replace art teachers?
A music teacher will be hired if current funding allows and school enrollment is large enough to justify the number of classes allocated for fine arts instruction. While this may appear to be a swap, the reality is that hiring specialized art teachers adds a significant cost to the district. Music is the only class offered as a specialized subject at the elementary level.
