Is pearl barley (the supermarket) be malted for brewing beer at home? I find it difficult to supply high quality ingredients and affordable for my home brew, pearl barley, however, is both cheap and readily available. Is it possible that I can use them? No. There are many resources on the Web for malting home. I do not know the top of my head that refining if any, is involved in “food quality” of barley. You can also contact people Breiss malting responses too. For the one with the yeast “Brewers” You need real brewer’s yeast to brew beer quality.
