Is participation in state standardized testing required?
Every student enrolled in COVA in the grades for which there is a CSAP assessment (grade 3-10) is expected to take it in the spring. Students in eleventh grade are required to take the Colorado ACT in the spring. All students will be assessed in their registered grade level, not at the level they are working in the curriculum. All testing times, dates, and regional locations, including testing information for students enrolled will be communicated to parents by their Academy teachers. The Academy will provide as much notice as possible to facilitate scheduling and planning. Families may be required to travel up to 60 miles (one way) to attend a testing session.
