Is participation in an assessment stressful for children?
In my experience, children do not find being interviewed particularly stressful. On the contrary, many children are relieved to have the opportunity to talk about their concerns with a neutral adult who has met their parents and knows something about the conflict between the parents. Children are never asked to choose between their parents. The child interviews are structured in a manner that is appropriate to the child’s age.
