Is parking a problem at the downtown location?

Parking is an important and valid issue with shoppers. YRGC shares that concern, and conducted a study over the course of one week to evaluate the number of available parking spots at any given hour of the day between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The co-op learned there are 134 parking spaces within two blocks of the cooperative site plus 7 handicapped spots. Fourteen (14) of these spaces are on the same block the cooperative is on. The study found that during any given time during the weekdays, over half of the total parking spots are available within two blocks of the store (73 on average). There are an average seven available spots on the block in front of the store. There are even more spaces available on weekends. The study concludes there should be sufficient parking for the anticipated number of shoppers and the proposed size of the store. The City of Stoughton has approved a 10-minute loading zone space and a handicapped space, both just a few parking spaces from the entrance of the coope
