Is PA shadowing required?
PA PA shadowing is not required, but is highly recommended, particularly if you do not work in a setting alongside PAs. After all, how else would you know that you want to become a PA if you’ve never actually seen one work? Getting some exposure to the PA profession will help you to better understand what it means to be a PA. Shadowing experiences should be listed in the “volunteer” section of your CASPA application and are not included with your patient care hours.
