Is P.o.P. combo master trophy tied to completion of game?

I have made a list, executed it 2x and I didn’t get the trophy. I know the usual suspects; can’t be linked to a finishing move, no frame drop during combo. I just need to know if you have to complete the game to get this trophy. If not, then anyone that has gotten it and has a link to the combo guide they used; please share. I’m taking this game back tomorrow so time is of the essence.
