Is Oscar de la Renta Well Enough To Work?

Page Six reports that after De La Renta had hip-replacement surgery last month, industry insiders circulated rumors that he still wasn’t well during New York Fashion Week. And while he was well enough to take a turn on his own runway in September, the speculation persisted. A spokesperson told Page Six that the rumors about the designer having to take naps in between meeting just aren’t true, and that he won’t be replaced any time soon. “Oscar happily is enjoying excellent health. He’s putting in a full work day every day. Any new hires have nothing to do with the design process, and there is no plan whatsoever to even think of replacing him as the creative head.” And that sort of makes sense.
