Is Organic Blue Agave nectar safe a safe option during pregnancy?
Members of the Agave family, which comprises about 200 species, have been used by indigenous people in central Mexico for centuries. The plant has been used for everything from syrups and beverages to ropes, fence posts and shoes. They have used the “pina” or core of the Agave tequilana species or the Agave salmiana species to provide sweet nectars and also to produced tequila and mescal. Other species of Agave (Agave americana and Agave sisalana; both widely used landscape plants in the southwestern states) have been reported to have been used as low-grade contraceptives.
