Is Ontario a good place to install a solar PV system?
Ontario, in particular Southern Ontario, receives enough sunlight throughout the year to create electricity using solar photovoltaic technology. The amount of solar radiation received in Southern Ontario is comparable to many European countries where businesses and households have been successfully using solar technology for years. Toronto receives almost as much solar radiation as Miami, Florida with the added benefit that Toronto has a cooler climate than Miami. Solar photovoltaic technology actually works less efficiently as the temperature in the solar panels increases.
