For flying internationally, you need a passport in the same name as your ticket. For domestic flying, any “government issued photo id” is ok. If your passport matches your ticket, you’re good to go. I think your plan is OK. (It won’t hurt to bring along your marriage papers and anything else that makes clear what is going on, just in case.
