Is Oneida Baptist a school for problem kids?
We are not a reform school, and we do not focus exclusively on students who have problems. We do, however, often accept students who may be struggling in some area of their lives. We do not accept any student who is not physically and emotionally able to be away from home. During our evaluation process, we thoroughly examine each student’s school and medical records. We do not accept every student who applies, even if that student has been recommended by a church or is active in church. Oneida is a perfect fit for many but not all young people. If you have questions about whether your child is appropriate, contact our admissions department. Many of our students who may have started out with problems immediately show improvement as they respond to factors in the OBI environment–whether it be individual attention in the classroom, supportive adults and peers, a structured daily routine or the simple message of God’s love for them.
