Is ONA paying for any travel to and from insurance company board meetings?
Are the meetings held on ONA time? If so, how is this not a conflict? Yes, travel costs are covered by ONA. Because the CEO does not work on an hourly basis, it is difficult to say whether the meetings take place “on ONA time”. The CEO works evenings and weekends as well as regular work days and is paid a set salary regardless of the amount of hours worked or the timing for when those hours occur. Because ONA invested in the Ohio Health Care Trust for business reasons, it is hard to understand how assuring the soundness of that investment through oversight of the decisions made by the Trust constitutes a conflict of interest.
