Is olive oil good for applying on hair?

Well, the best answer is that it isn’t bad for your hair. If you have dry, brittle hair, what you need is water (moisture) in your hair, not oil. Oil is a good replacement, but is not the answer. Ideally, you would moisturize your hair first, and then put some oil on the surface to try and keep it in. This is a temporary measure, and when you shampoo your hair, you will remove this coating of oil, and are back where you were. You can use oil safely on your hair, but the molecules are far too large to be of any great benefit. But it won’t hurt you — other than make your hair oily. And that may be all you really needed in the first place.
