It depends. External user support is required in order for Communicator Mobile to work over mobile wireless networks (for example, GPRS, 1xRTT, or EV-DO). External user support is not required if you use Communicator Mobile only in a fixed wireless network (for example, internal Wi-Fi) within your organization’s network. You can enable external access on a per user basis.
