Is Obamas presidency a good thing for Canadians?

Well, Canada will be the first country that Obama will visit after his inauguration. A long tradition, broken by Bush who visited Mexico first. I don’t think that Obama will change anything with NAFTA. Canada is important for us, as an ally and trading partner. In 2007, United States shipped more goods to Canada with its 33 million people than to the 27 nations of the European Union with its half-billion inhabitants. After 9/11, Bush had strict border rules. Obama might even have rational policies with the Canadian Border. However, there is no guarantee if the Presidency of Obama will be any good for Canada. As an American, I fear if Obama, although a breath of fresh air, might be any good for Americans.
