Is nylon a thermoforming plastic ot a thermosetting plastic?

Nylon is thermosetting because it can be melted and shaped over and over again.

First off, you are confusing thermoform with thermoplastic. Thermoforming is a process to melt sheets of plastic and form the sheet into a shape. Nylon is a thermoplastic material because it can remelt and be formed. A thermoplastic is a type of plastic that once made into a part, via melting and forming, can then be remelted because all the molecular chains can disentangle. Think of it like spaghetti. However in a thermoset type of plastic the chains directly connect with each other, theoretically making one enormous molecule. This plastic can not be remelted and formed into something else because all the chains are directly connected, where as the thermoplastic chains are just tangled up, and some heat applied will allow them to flow again.
