Reuptake = sucking back into the terminal button Inhibitor = disabling the process It basically means the terminal button that released the norepinephrine cannot suck it back up because of the drug. Ex: Think of the terminal button as a straw filled with sugar and the sugar as norepinephrine. When you blow on the straw (terminal button) filled with sugar (norepinephrine) into a glass of water, the sugar will be dispersed. Now the drug (the reuptake inhibitor) will block the opening of the straw where the sugar came out and you can’t suck back the sugar from the water (which is what normally happens).
