Is non-organic food really that bad for you?
Organic food is definitely better for you because a lot of non-organic food has an abundance of pesticides in it that can contribute to allergies, cancer, or birth defects. Foods like strawberries are definitely more healthy to buy organically because they are grown with so many pesticides. It has even been tested that people who think they are allergic to strawberries are actually allergic to the pesticides used in strawberry farming.
Foods you should definitely buy organically (or avoid otherwise) include:
- Meat
- Milk
- Coffee
- Celery
- Peaches
- Strawberries
- Apples
- Blueberries
- Nectarines
- Bell peppers
- Spinach
- Kale
- Cherries
- Potatoes
- Grapes
- Leafy Greens
- Carrots
- Pears
- Tomatoes
Organic foods can be expensive, so stick to these foods that are known to use a high amount of pesticides and you should be fine as you make your transition into the organic foods world.
