Is non-emergency transportation covered by Medi-Cal?
Yes, But only under the following conditions: 1. The trip must be to obtain medical services covered by Medi-Cal. 2. You must be physically unable to use a private auto, bus, taxi or other form of public transportation. 3. Your physician must sign a transportation request documenting the physical limitations that prevent you from using other forms of public or private transportation. 4. Your Medi-Cal coverage must be current for the date of service with no pending share of cost.
