Is nintendo wifi free?
I don’t know for the Wii, but for the DS: For the actual usage of wifi, you do not. As in, there is no monthly fee to use it (if that’s what you mean). However, if you don’t have the products like a wireless internet router or a USB wifi adapter to have your DS connect to the internet, then those are the things you’ll need to pay for in order to access wifi. The only other option to access wifi is to find a local hotspot like certain Starbucks, cyber cafés, etc. But it’s not guaranteed they’ll let you use their wifi connection for free. You’ll have to ask.
