Is Nikola Tesla used by psuedoscience supporters wrongly?

Tesla was a nutty professor. The attribution that he was aware of certain properties of matter and space and kept these properties secret is unfounded. He did not develop teleportation. He did have a mechnical oscillator that would do damage to a building. He could have made a very large oscillator that could do some serious damage to a city block. A slightly more rational mind would have said “what is the point”. would an enemy country allow you to build this oscillator in the middle of their capital city and then let you turn it on? Some cite this oscillator as one of his inventions that exploits his secret knowledge of the properties of matter. It is more likely to be somethng that operates on a simple feedback scheme.
