The Public Education Department is in the process of developing the state’s Electronic Student Management System for students in grade 11 to gauge workplace/postsecondary readiness. This would include multiple measures, including ACT/SAT, state-developed items/tasks, existing workplace readiness assessments (e.g., WorkKeys), school-based activities (projects), workplace performance (internships, after-school jobs, service learning), end-of-course exams, AP exam scores, leadership/management skills and grades/transcripts. The Electronic Student Management System will be the repository for student scores on the New Mexico standards-based 11th-grade assessment, college readiness (placement) assessments and workforce readiness assessments.
