Is Neo from the Matrix Dead?
Yes, Neo is dead. He sacrificed himself. In the last scene with the Architect and the Oracle, the Architect says that people plugged into the Matrix will be released if they desire. Zion is saved and the humans and machines can co-exist with peace. A lot of people tie in the religious symbolism. The sunrise in the end scene was done by the little girl(program) from when Neo was stuck in the train station in between the matrix and reality. The Oracle asks her if she made it, and the girl said she made it for Neo. The people plugged into the Matrix are allowed to be released, thus freeing them from battery-slavery, and the machines still get to exist from the people who stay. And the Architect even said that they (machines) have other ways of survival without the humans. When the Oracle in the end says that they will see Neo again, that can be interpreted as a religious reference. Neo as Christ being ressurected after his sacrifice.
