Is NC not a Royalist Party, Girija the King?

Ranjitkar The Nepali Congress (NC) is a historical and glorious political party that had led the Nepalese people to fight against the despotic Rana oligarchy, successfully tore down the 104-year old Rana regime, but lost the power to the king. Then, the NC led another people’s movement in 1990 and defeated the repressive regime called Panchayat. However, the NC leaders particularly the current Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala played a negative role in the state governance, and again lost the power to the king. The NC and other political parties attempted to take back the power for more than three years without success. Then, the Seven-party Alliance (SPA) joined hands with the rebels to launch the People’s Movement in April 2006. Nepalese people came out against the dictatorial king to fight to the finish. However, Prime Minister Koirala had been playing a negative role in strengthening the people’s power and attempting to preserve the monarchy in one way or another. H
