Is Nationalism a Uniquely Western Phenomenon in European Civilization?
An 8 page address to the question of how nationalism has affected Eastern verses Western European countries and to the question as to how nationalism has affected the evolution of liberal democracies in these countries. While nationalism has been evidenced time and time again among the western European countries and, in fact, has resulted in the evolution of liberal democracy, it is not limited to western Europe. Indeed, nationalism has made its presence known among eastern European countries as well. In some of these countries nationalism has been a positive influence in the evolution of a liberal democracy, in others it has been a hindrance to that evolution. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
