Is my student required to participate in the milk and lunch programs offered by the Del Mar Union School District?
Our nutrition and milk programs are completely voluntary and parents have the opportunity to provide snacks and lunch from home that meet the personal needs and desires of their students. Why does the lunch program offered by the Del Mar Union School District operate on a pre-pay system? The Del Mar Union School District does not have a kitchen located at any of the eight schools. The San Dieguito Union High School District provides meals on a daily basis. It is necessary for us to provide daily counts in advance so the high school district is able to procure the required amount of ingredients from the suppliers. Question: What will happen if my lunch order is received past the due date? At this time we are unable to accept late orders. If an order is received past the due date, it will be returned home with the child. Lunch will need to be provided from home for that week. The order can be resubmitted for any remaining weeks in the cycle.
