Is my rescue dog showing signs of seperation anxiety?
I adopted my dog Toby yesterday from an animal shelter here in Abilene, Tx. Toby has been in that same shelter around two months and before that they rescued him from the local kill shelter. I obviously don’t know him too well yet, but he is so clingy to me. He follows me everywhere and rarely leaves my side. He is already housebroken and has not had a single accident since we brought him home. He is friendly and sweet with other dogs and with my children. He is tattooesWe don’t know what breeds he has in him but were told terrier mix. He doesnt bark, bite or jump. He smiles and sometimes it seems to be caused by stress. I fell in love with his picture before I met him and even more so when we finally did meet him. His behavior is odd to me only because he is a rescue dog and I havent seen such a sweet dog before. I love him and just want to get an idea if we are looking at a problem waiting to happen or if Toby is just a mild mannered, happy pooch who fell in love with me.
