If you have root access to your server and can set permissions on the MySQL binary file folder located well above your web space, yes you can back up your MySQL databases. These will be backed up as binary text files. Otherwise, unless you’re using a program such as MySQL Mate to convert your data to plain text files and store them within your web space, you cannot back up your MySQL databases.
