Is my kitten an egyptian mau?
No, it isn’t. The only way to get an Egyptian Mau kitten is from the mating of pedigreed Egyptian Mau to pedigree Egyptian Mau. There’s also VERY few Mau breeders in the States and kiittens START at about $1,200. This kitten doesn’t bear ANY traits of the breed – it’s just basic tabby markings. This person who told you the mother cat is a pedigreed cat is most likely full of it. Breeders tend to sell kittens altered unless someone has spent several years proving themselves as someone who wants to breed cats for the right reasons – for the love of the breed and to improve the breed. Crossbreeding is NEVER allowed and cats just don’t end up pregnant from “local ginger tom cats” since they ALWAYS stay indoors. I’m hoping you didn’t spend a lot of money on this kitten because someone lied to you about it’s background. I also hope you still have the $300-$400 you’ll need to get this kitten neutered, up to date on shots, deflead, dewormed, tested for disease and microchipped? Colour/pattern
