Is my corporate VPN software compatible with the Wi-Fi service at McDonalds?
Yes. Most Virtual Private Network (VPN) software running on a notebook computer that is configured for DHCP is compatible with Wayport’s network. If your company allows remote access into the corporate network, then you may connect. If your company has a VPN (Virtual Private Network), you should be able to run your VPN or secure tunneling client software over your Wayport connection. Wayport provides fully routable/public IP addresses so that VPN connections should be seamless. Wayport does not block any ports except incoming port 80 and port 139, the netbios port (VPNs do not use these ports). Wayport’s network will support any VPN technology, which is Internet Protocol Version 4 (Ipv4) compliant (this information can be obtained from the userssIT department). Most VPNs will meet this requirement.
