Is my child automatically removed from my benefit plan (and ASEBP identification card) when he/she turns 21?
No. Children will remain enrolled as a dependent until you notify either your school board or an ASEBP Benefit Specialist that they are no longer registered as a dependent on your provincial healthcare plan. When a child turns 25 years of age, ASEBP will automatically terminate benefits. If the child continues to be wholly dependent on a parent due to physical or mental disability, the parent may apply to have the benefits continued beyond the age 25.
