Is my cat being pregnant 3 times bad in less than a year?

As you have found out, cats will get pregant over and over…..many times in a year. It’s really unhealthy for the mom…..depletes all of her reserves, so she’ll eventually be worn out and can get sick more easily. Unless you want to lose her, before she’s an old cat, you really should let this be her last pregnancy. I bred cats for many years, and my female Himalayan ( had four breeding females ) finally started to lose her kittens. So, rather than lose HER, I had her spayed! She’s a healthy, happy “grandma”, now……13 yrs old and doing great! Now all of my “girls” are spayed, healthy, and happy to be “done with all of that”!! Hope you take the advice of “most” of us, and have her spayed, before you wish you had! Good luck with this coming litter!!

First I would just like to say that I’m guessing you are not old enough to take your pet to the vet to be spayed, so I’m not going to blame you for that. I’m not going to say that it’s horrible for your cat to have so many litters, because obviously if nature intended animals to breed less often then they wouldn’t have so many cycles. -However- It probably isn’t in the best interests of your cat to have so many litters. She is likely to wear out faster, become nutritionally deficient, and in general live a shorter lifespan from the wear and tear on her body. My suggestion to you is to talk to your parents. Then they could: 1. Look for a low-cost spay and neuter clinic in your area; if you’re unsure of where to look, start by calling a local animal shelter. 2. If spaying is absolutely out of the question for money reasons, try just keeping your cat indoors. When cats come into heat they go looking for mates; it’s just their instinct. I hope you are able to find good homes for all your k

Having too many litters too close together isn’t good for her. Yes, nature allows it, but nature is only interested in making sure genes are passed on, not that your cat has a long, healthy life. Having kittens then nursing them for several weeks takes a lot out of a cat and she needs to be allowed to regain weight and condition before having a second litter. Responsible breeders will also not allow their females to have many litters and will spay them while they are still relatively young. I agree with others that the best thing you can do – both for your individual cat and for the species in general – is to get your cat spayed. If you’re not old enough to get that done yourself, please do some research and take your findings to your parents. Imo, your cat has had enough kittens and it really is in her best interests to be spayed once she’s had her next litter. When she’s had her kittens, please make sure she can’t get outside or have any contact with entire male cats until she’s been
