Is musical theatre dead?

The local youngsters in town put on some musical show they simply called High School Musical. Was very good for a local high school show, and the kids were more then enthused. Seems, around here at least, musical theatre is alive and kicking high. They danced with basketballs to some goofy some that was actually enjoyable. I wish more kids were as enthused about musical theatre as this bunch was.
