Firstly, however, it is necessary to be very clear what it is that we are talking about when referring to multimodal transport in this context. At the 9th session of the NGMTS, the Australian Delegation put forward a discussion paper on multimodal transport in order to provide some possible guidance as to how these additional elements could be covered, as well as offering some scheduling alternatives, and this offers a very useful starting point.
