Is Motor Silk NOT recommended for any applications?
The Motor Silk gear treatment product is not recommended for limited slip differential drive components in cars and trucks or for wet-clutch assemblies found on some motorcycles and other equipment. Other positraction units like lockers without clutches will benefit from the gear treatment. Motor Silk engine treatment is not recommended for new or rebuilt engines until the break-in period has been reached or 1200 miles if there is no manufacturer’s recommended break-in period. Note: The Motor Silk gear treatment product is not recommended for limited slip differentials in some cars and trucks and wet-clutch assemblies found on some motorcycles and other equipment. It’s simple to figure out: If your rear end used a “modifier or limited slip additive” in the oil, do not use our gear treatment.
