Is Modern and Biblical Witchcraft the Same Thing?
Despite that there is no concrete way to determine if the Biblical term “witchcraft” and what was dubbed “witchcraft” by Christians as they conquered the rest of Europe, the indigenous folk practices of ancient Europeans became “witchcraft” as well. But witchcraft is witchcraft, isn’t it? Whether indigenous or not, according to the Church (and to a lesser extent, the Bible), any “ritual” practice not performed in the name or honor of the Christian God was “pagan” and therefore immediately sinful.
