Is mineral makeup dangerous?
If any cosmetics are dangerous, it is the synthetic versions of cosmetics that are sold all over the world. Many chemicals including toxins and known carcinogens are found in makeup products. Mineral makeup does not contain any of these unnatural ingredients. The only ingredient that might bother some is bismuth oxycholoride. Bismuth oxycholoride is a natural byproduct of lead and copper processing, and has been known to irritate skin. Bismuth oxycholoride is found in some mineral makeup, but those that hold themselves to the highest standards of natural production do not include the mineral as it is not directly from the Earth.
