They prepare foods which contain gluten in the same area so slight contamination may occur. For most gluten intolerance sufferers that is acceptable. Nuts however can be very dangerous to some. So even a trace can induce a serious reaction, life threatening reaction if an antidote is not taken straight away. It seems that these manufacturing factories are finding it necessary to cover themselves with a warning so that they are not sued to death as the result of a simple human error. Yet their products are almost certainly perfectly safe because their cleaning standards are so high.
