Is miley cyrus singing career over because she used a body double?
I actually pin the blame on the concert production team for creating a situation that forced the need for a body double. Costume changes are often needed for recent pop concerts, and most concerts prior to the Best of Both Worlds USA Tour 2007 were well planned in this regard. Shades of Milli Vanilli indeed–the Vanilli producers actually did the vocals themselves and hired visual talent for the lip-synch work in that earlier fiasco. Ideally, the producers of the Best of Both Worlds USA Tour 2007 would NOT have stuck Cyrus with an illusionist-style bugout–Cyrus is NO David Copperfield workalike. The producers should have planned the concert, as I judge the situation, in a manner consistent with the first three Debbie Gibson tours (viz., the Out of the Blue Tour 1988, Electric Youth World Tour 1989, and Possibilities World Tour 1991), as Gibson had planned for costume changes on specific songs on these three tours.
Most pop singers lip sing while on stage. The difference being is that as far as i know Miley Cyrus is lip singing to her own music, stuff she has recorded herself while Milli Vanilli had others singing for them, they never used their own actual voices. . EDIT: On a side note, i worked backstage as an electrician at a larger arena that has concerts quite often several years back. You wouldnt believe how many bands actually have more people backstage, right in back of the backdrop-2 to 3 other guitar players backing them up. Yes, they are playing their own music, but they have a few more guys you never see or have heard of playing along with them. Hansen for example, when they were kids they played at this arena. 3 little boys out there playing, but they had 2 adults in back of the curtain who were actually playing the guitars.
