Is Mike D. of the Beastie Boys really related to Dustin Diamond from “Saved by the Bell”?
Forget spontaneous human combustion — no urban legend has caused Gen Xers more distress than the rumor involving rapper Mike D. sharing DNA with Screech from “Saved by the Bell.” It’s enough to make us fight for the right to stick our heads in the sand. But the truth must be known. And here it is… To all Beastie Boy fans out there, we’re happy to report that Mike D. (Michael Diamond) is in no way related to Screech (Dustin Diamond). Furthermore, Dustin is not a relative of iconic crooner Neil Diamond either. Whew!
