Is Mifos available as Free and Open Software Now?

Not yet. Mifos is currently licensed under the Apache2.0 license, but since it is not production stable, it is not ready to be used by Microfinance institutions (MFI). Our core value is in being open source, with a highly controlled release under the Mifos brand. We will not be promoting the download of the software for operational purposes until we have completed a testing and validation phase with our “external beta customers”. Currently, our development is being done – in the clear – and if you are a developer, please join the project and download the source code. See How to help.
