Middlesex is not the smallest county but, is the second smallest county after Rutland. After the London Borough Act in 1965, it ceased to survive as, a county administrative area. It is bordered on three sides near the rivers Thames, Lea and Clone and is bounded by some big countries like Buckinghamshire, Essex, Surrey and Hertfordshire. The name Middlesex literally means middle Saxons and refers to the reputed cultural origin of its population. Middlesex is the former County neighboring London, SE England. The country was predominantly modernized in 1965 into the Greater London Boroughs of Ealing, Harrow, Hounslow, Barnet, Enfield, Rihmond, Brent, Hillingdon, and Haringey upon Thames. Geographically from the thirteenth century, the metropolis of Westminster, the self governing City of London be included in the country of Middlesex. The bigger parts of Middlesex were covered by north western bounds of London.
