Is Microsoft ever going to make Xbox Live gold free?
NO! Here is why. 1. Original Xbox live (for the original xbox) still isn’t free. 2. No service has ever been rendered for free that required the ammount of bandwidth that something like Xbox Live does. 3. Microsoft is a Corperation. It needs money to grow and create new products as well as keeping Xbox Live preformance up to date to make all gamers happy. Correction for those now stating Sony provides it free. It isn’t the same ammount of services, it requires less bandwidth because they don’t provide as many services, and from what I’ve been told (I hate Sony never will touch a PS3) They advertise more with it and while the servers are good they are less reliable. PS: General Electric is the “biggest” bussiness with the most market value.
Well if you compare xboxs vs ps3s marketplaces and online matchmaking to me there is a huge difference between the two. I guess the yearly fee you pay for the xbox service goes a long way with the way they keep their site fast moving, always updated and the game matchmaking is by far the better of the two. Side note: PS3’s marketplace is finally going to be faster since it wont be web based anymore, thus you can actually open files or search it much faster without looking at the little squiggly circle thing in the top right corner everytime you execute an action.
