Is microdermabrasion recomended for rosacea skin problems?
No it is not. Microdermabrasion is a process that involves exfoliation of the top layer of skin using a roughly textured wand and a grainy substance (usually infused with diamond dust). This process is abrasive and leaves the skin somewhat red and irritated for a couple of days after the process. This treatment is not recommended for people with skin conditions like eczema, acne, and rosacea. At most skin salons, they have facials that are formulated for people with skin conditions like rosacea, so ask your aesthetician about this. I get microdermabrasion once a month, and take it from me, it is not a gentle process.
