Is metal detecting legal in the Czech Republic? What are the laws relating to it?

Detecting on property is perfectly legal throughout the country, with the obvious exception of national monuments and archaeological sites. As most of the land we will be working is owned by farming concerns, it’s not a problem to find a place to go, and getting permission is quite easy here if the land is not being farmed at the moment. All sites we will be on, no matter who actually owns them, will be with full written permission. As a resident and avid detectorist, I like to hope that our responsible behaviour will continue to keep the country welcoming detectorists year in and year out.
