Is Menieres Disease Linked to Tinnitus?
Meniere’s disease is linked to tinnitus, together with dizziness and progressive hearing loss. The disease was first noted by the French physician, Prosper Meniere, who wrote a paper in 1861, reporting that vertigo was caused by disorders of the inner ear that affect both hearing and balance. One important point to bear in mind is that you should never try to diagnose the illness yourself. Just because you’re suffering from, let’s say, dizziness, please don’t leap to the assumption that you must be suffering Meniere’s. Diagnosing this particular illness is something that can only be done properly by a qualified doctor.
