I’ve wondered the same thing and I think it basically comes down to what each university decides to name their program. Biomedical engineering is relatively new but is definitely a growing field so not all universities even have a specific Biomedical or medical major. The University of Nebraska, for instance has a Biomedical Engineering minor but doesn’t have it as a major yet. They have a Biological Systems Engineering major which includes a possible emphasis on Biomedical. I think it all comes down to how the department decides to name and organize their program but they all seem the same to me. Hope that helps!
