Is mediation cheaper than litigation?
Mediation can be used as a tool to finish a litigation case or as an alternative to litigation. Generally speaking, mediation is a cheaper alternative to most litigation tactics and usually results in more amicable relationships between the parties. This is beneficial to the parties and to the children involved. However, if a case is taken to mediation too quickly or with too much ground to cover, it might become more expensive than anticipated. You and your attorney or the other party should communicate as to whether you are ready for mediation.
