MeadWestvaco Forest leases its land for recreational purposes. Tracts not leased are generally not leased for a reason. These tracts are not open for recreational purposes. However, in West Virginia, MeadWestvaco lands may be used for other recreational activities if those activities do not conflict with hunting and fishing, and in some cases, they may be used for permit hunting (Greenbrier County only).
